Reality TV personality Tila Tequila nearly died last week after suffering a brain aneurysm and the effects of a prescription drug overdose. When she experienced the horrific head pain from the aneurysm, she took two entire bottles of an "unspecified heavy prescription drug."
According to a report from RadarOnline, Tila, 30, was released from the hospital on Monday—and she's really incredibly lucky to have survived the harrowing ordeal.
A source says Tila suffered the brain aneurysm in the middle of the night while she was asleep in bed. It seems the pain caused her to behave in an irrational way, and that's why she took the two bottles of prescription pills. It certainly sounds like she was trying somehow to alleviate the awful pain she was feeling.
"Tila threw up all over her bed after overdosing and felt like she was dying. She was screaming for help, and in desperation, broke her bedroom window and attempted to jump out," the source says.
Fortunately during the frightening episode, Tila Tequila somehow sent a really strange text to a friend, and that may have saved her life.
"Finally a friend came over after getting a strange text from her and found her convulsing on the bed. He called an ambulance and she was taken to the hospital," the source says.
It's uncertain thus far if Tila suffered some permanent brain damage. The 4'11" star went from weighing 100 pounds to 78 pounds. She still hasn't regained her ability to speak properly. The fact that she got to the hospital just in the nick of time to be stabilized made the difference between life and death. Now it's a waiting game to see what kind of life she'll be able to live.
Hopefully Tila Tequila will emerge relatively unscathed from this horrible brush with death. The next few weeks will no doubt prove critical in her recovery.
