GIFs? Uh, no thanks. I don't want Facebook to turn into a forum. Plus, Facebook is popular because of it's easy to use, sleek site, making it easy for everyone to use from kids, parents to grandparents. Adding gifs will make it a hot mess.
And Facebook isn't "losing" to Tumblr -- or anyone. Facebook's networth is probably more than all the social sites combined.
So what they're basically saying is that Tumblr is a place where it's accepted to be even more narcissistic and pretentious than on Facebook. Sounds about right.
