well see that's where we differ because I love "SAIKI" and have no shame in admitting to it lmao I guess I can say I'm half ATRL menatality, and half regular non atrl-mentality. Maybe because I just joined a few months ago it's different for me idk. I'm not used to seeing that phrase used so much that's why. Do u understand me? because some people are replying with nonsense and instead of actually giving an opinion they're trying to be funny with the snide comments.

The General Public are the 95% of music consumers who listen to the radio and download whatever songs they like. They usually have no idea when new albums are dropping and sometimes don't even know who sings the songs they like.

The General Public have no idea who people like Rita Ora, Sabi, Porcelain Black etc are and still think You Da One, Set Fire To The Rain, and Stronger are "brand new."

They have no particular loyalty to "a favorite artist," and they don't keep up with the music world in general.

I can say I'm half and half of the "general public" because I know a lot of music stuff like when an album/ song is released but like most regular non-music people I don't know a lot of buzzing people like Rita Ora, Porcelain Black. I just found out about them on here.

Using "the general public" is just a simple way of referring to the people outside of ATRL or other pop music forums. Usually those who don't follow music with passion or interest. It's not such a a big deal.

I have this notion of referring to those who make certain songs #1 (those who buy it, request it, and shop it around) as the general public. I see the general public as a large group of people who follows the trends and hardly listens to music outside of the popular genre. The general public is a real thing, and it can be determined by the current trend and upcoming trend patterns in music, fashion, film, games, etc. so it's not a term that's just going to go away. Don't think of it as "what we know people will like", but more like "what may be the populous' choice according to recurring and obvious facts".
