Do you think Rihanna appeals the most to straight men?
I think one of the hardest demographics a pop female can swoon MUSICALLY is the straight male demographic. Not saying straight men cannot appreciate our female pop divas, but most men don't seem to musically take them seriously. Just for their looks.
Rihanna though. I can see the most macho guy with her in his IPod LOL. She seems to still hold that female appeal yet still hold enough credibility to where I see straight guys listen to her music without feeling feminine.
Yes she does, most of my straight male friends aren't ashamed to have her music on their ipod, phones,etc. but get defensive when people know they have beyonce, britney or lady gaga songs on there
She sells singles. Like Katy and her low sales yet high single sales How someone can have 6 number 1 hits off 1 albums, yet barely sell 2 million albums perplexes me.
Sexually, yes.
Musically, I don't think as much—I know my straight brother bumped 'Hard', but that's about it.
But her features on others songs is where she get most of her straight male following.
She doesn't have the camp factor that the rest - GaGa, Britney Spears, and the like, have hanging over their music. Plus shes always singing a hook or two on a rap song, so it kinda broadens her appeal. No one's embarrassed to like her.

I think it has to do with the amount of features she does with masculine characters. Same would apply to Nicki Minaj.

Well her music isn't as girl power as the rest of the other girls so I could see why. I think her features help out loads too. She's always collaborating with males artists.
