He was referring to Britney. Rihanna sold almost 30 million albums and 80 million singles though.

oh I thought he was talking about Rihanna because of my "110 million" comment then he said it was 110...thnk u for clarifying
but yea...no1 will ever be able to sell 200 records/130 (janet estimation) in this musical climate without the help of digital sales...
Britney will be able to because I still think she has some juice left in her lol

Britney surpassed Janet for a very long time now. Let's not do this.

Bomt 26
Oidia 20
Itz 8
Britney 10
Blackout 3
Circus 4
Ff 1.5
Gh 5
Remixes 1 and 2. 1
That is 78.5 and I think ITZ and Britney are a bit higher

What kind of flop thread....
To think either of these artists are going anywhere is crazy.

Agreed though. ‘Femme Fatale’ was rush-released for two reasons: so Jive could cash in on Britney before the end of the fiscal year and one last time before they dissolved into RCA. We knew since October 2010 the album, ready or not, would hit stores before March 31, 2011 (the end of Sony’s fiscal year.) She was still recording the album in February. She's taking a break to find inspiration, have more control again, and be more involved with everything regarding her next album.

Mariah's record sales are tough to beat for either Britney and Beyonce but y'all know bitch couldn't pull off tour ticket sales to save her life.

imagine Britney having an era like Janet Jackson's "Control" where she all powerful and dropped her whole management for new people and took control of her sound and videos and choreography etc.!! lol it would be epic, and a 1st single like "Control" wouldn't help either

LiveNation reported 'Britney' sold over 12 million, 'Zone' sold over 10 million, and 'My Prerogative’ sold over 6 million. ‘Oops!,’ ‘Blackout,’ ‘Circus,’ and ‘Femme Fatale’ have all sold more, and you don’t have ‘The Singles Collection’ there, which sold over 1 million.

True. She's never been a touring act, and didn't even tour until her third album came out. And didn't do a world(7 date) tour until 6 years into her career, after selling over 40 million albums.
If she would've put more effort into the performance side of stuff, she would've been unstoppable.

Janet is an aging pop star. Her not being able to sell out tours anymore doesn't matter in this discussion (by the way, and you're wrong). Beyonce is in her prime right now. Therefore she will be compared to Janet's prime.
