My parents always insist on paying for my tuition, textbooks, basically anything school-related but I don't let them pay once cent. Why? Because I don't want to feel responsible if I drop or re-take a course or if I make a bad decision. I know they would bring up "but I spent so much money on you and you're wasting it!!!", so with me using my own money, I won't feel bad and it's less drama and guilt free.

I would never drop college bc my mom put allot of effort into taking care of me and trying give me the best education and a good college. And if i"d drop out all her efforts would go right through the sink.

No,I couldn't find a good job without a degree and besides I love what I'm studying

Yup. However I'm now going to school part time and working a good job but I will say its much easier to just get it over with the first time

Nope, but to each his own. Some of my friends who chose to just start working after high school are doing very well.

Yes. But only because I hated what I was studying and it was a waste of time and money. I'll go back if I find something I really want to study. I have a lot of friends that have graduated and aren't making much money and they have well over 100k in student loan debt. What's better? Making slightly less with no debt or having that piece of paper and 100k to pay off?

Of course, there are many more opportunities for growth/higher paying jobs with the education but many people never recover from their debt. Scary.

Your BEST bet is being very studious in High School and getting yourself some great scholarships so most of your education is paid for, and then you're golden.
