there has been more hard hitting topics used in videos, but they werent bad. For example MTV in the UK played When The Sun Goes Down by the Arctic Monkeys which covered the topic of prostitution and Britney re-enacted a suicide in Everytime. It seems like because these artists, amongst others, are hugely successful they can get away with more. MTV will rather keep these artists happy in order to ensure they are linked to their success.
Thankfully Lily Allen's video is shown on our other music channels here in the UK such as the Box, The Hits and Smash Hits.
I will also go right in and say this is ******** because if you remember, Jay-Z's last video showed him getting shot repeatedly....... lily's video is not offensive on any means
