Music of the Sun
With her Debut Album, Rihanna introduced us to who she was and let us know that she was here to stay. The album screams Caribbean Charm, while blending Pop/R&B/Hip-Hop and even Dancehall into her island roots. She delivered hits like club-smashing Pon de Replay and the Bajan Tinged If It's Lovin' That You Want.
A Girl Like Me
With her 2nd Studio Album, A Girl Like Me, Rihanna transitioned slowly into the girl we know today, while still holding onto her roots. The album still has that Bajan feel to it with hits like SOS Break It Off, yet Rihanna slowly is shifting her style to R&B and slower jams like the hit Unfaithful. A bit of a sequel to MOTS, yet with more Urban Jams, rather then all Sun and Fun.
Good Girl Gone Bad
With Rihanna's 3rd studio album being titled Good Girl Gone Bad, she took the title to the next level. Changing her hair to jet-black, and cutting off her long locks, Rihanna transitioned to her next Era. This Massive Album delivered hits like the Iconic Umbrella, the R&B Ballad with Ne-Yo; Hate That I Love You, as well as the Dark Horror Themed smash; Disturbia. Rihanna also one of the first mainstream artists to incorporate Electro-Pop and House music into songs like Don't Stop The Music and Disturbia.
Rated R
What some call Rihanna's darkest and most heartfelt album yet, we call her 3rd Studio Album; Rated R. This being the first record conceived after her then assault involving her former boyfriend Chris Brown, the public was eager to know where Rihanna would go next. Her answer? An Angry yet Emotionally Fractured album incorporating Hip-Hop, Rock, Dubstep and Pop all into one. She delivered Dubstep tracks such as Wait Your Turn & Mad House, while also giving us emotional Ballads like Russian Roulette, Fire Bomb, Cold Case Love and The Last Song. A Huge evolution in Rihanna's Career.
Loud
Now moving onto her 5th Studio Album Loud, Rihanna wanted to once again sing fun and happy lyrics to an up-beat tune, after coming off Rated R. Loud is a behemoth of an album full of Dance-pop, Electro R&B while incorporating bits of Rock & Roll. Rihanna delivered Club Smashes with Only Girl (In The World) & S&M, while still keeping to her Bajan roots with What's My Name and the reggae infused Man Down. Easily her most Public-Pleasing album.
Talk That Talk
Rihanna's latest and easily one of her most controversial albums, is her 6th Studio Album Talk That Talk. The third album released in a row, fans were hesitant about what Rihanna might deliver with such a tight deadline of Touring and Recording. This album combines pretty much all of her past 5 albums into 37 minutes of Loud, Sexy, Club-smashing tunes. She fuses many genres including Dubstep, Trance, R&B, Electro, House while still keeping that Caribbean flavor. During this era, Rihanna delivered her biggest ever hit song; the Electro-pop, House song We Found Love. She also combined her old bajan roots with her new Sexy Badgirl Image, in Cockiness and Watch n' Learn. While this Era isn't over yet, its sure that Rihanna still has at least 1 more smash, with the Behemoth of a Track ; Where Have You Been.
So after taking a look back at all of Rihanna's 6 Impressive albums released since 2005. I asked you, what do you want her next step to be? Do you want her 7th Album to be completely Rock n' Roll? A Dark dubstep dance album? Or a slow ballad-full album? Or do you want something she's never done before? Let's see what ATRL/Public wants from Rihanna next. Also what they don't want.
