British singer LILY ALLEN has slammed MTV for banning the video to her hit single SMILE because it features a mugging in it. The 21-year-old, who is currently at the top of the UK singles chart with Smile, is outraged her promo has been axed when bands like THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS can get away with "promoting prostitution". She says, "My video was banned by MTV because it's got a mugging in it. Yet The Pussycat Dolls can get away with gyrating with no clothes on and promoting prostitution."

She's not really that wrong, though. If you look at PCD's videos, they get away with some things in their videos that Lily Allen wouldn't because PCD is POPULAR and Lily isn't stateside. It's biased and unfair and I feel she is in the right with her comments. Her attitude may not have been the way to go, but the comments were pretty spot on.

It's not about stooping to a low level, it's about honesty and she's absolutetly right. I mean, that girl has talent and I would really suggest that you check her out. She was just merely commenting on how it seems to be okay that PCD can have videos where they are taking off their clothes but a mugging gets a video banned? It really makes no sense if you think about it, other than the fact that our society is weird about stuff like this. As Ryan (I'm Coming Undone) mentioned, PCD gets away with it because they are popular and that is really unfair and biased.
...I wanna see the video, a mugging doesn't sound so bad, especially considering the fact MTV is able to play "Stars are blind." But do realize a majority of the latest head people running MTV still have a retarded sense of what they're doing. (Which is one big reason why the channel is looked down upon.)
