So no Popstar is taking risk by making a Pop album ??

and after reading this article which is just from an unknown blog post, I can see why the OP posted this. It's a shame that you go and find random blog posts to try and make your fav look better.

the same old bogus scheisse . Rated R was amazing no matter what anyone says, even born this way and teenage dream all unique in their personal way. This **** of belittling pop is hillarious as it seems to keep people happy and not depressed.

I seriously can't stand when older generations say delusional **** like "back in the 70s when music was good" and blah blah blah. Music is music, and its subjective. Music is all the time growing and having different styles, if the older generations don't like it now, than turn the station, it's as easy as that. and And let's not even try and begin to say the 70s had better lyrical content, if anything it's just the same as it is now. Look at disco music. Alot of the songs are just fun songs.

I normally hate articles like this, but one time while I was listening to the radio at work, I had to hear, "Turn Me On," "International Love," "Domino," and "Love You Like a Love Song" in succession.
What kind of cruel and unusual punishment...? ****, almost made me write this article.
|
Sure, but I don't see the difference between International Love or Turn Me On with songs like Judas or Marry The Night

I think a lot of the older generation's discontent when it comes to mainstream music is the lack of a rock element to it. When they turn on mainstream radio, they hear pop music almost exclusively. You're entirely right when you say that pop music has always been fun and rather mindless. So I think a lot of what they complain about isn't the lack of quality in pop but the lack of rebellious rock bands.

Those songs aren't that great either (AWFUL, in the case of Judas).
Lady Gaga gets respect, strangely enough, because she's pretentious. She tried to deliver something groundbreaking with Born This Way. Even though she largely failed, people respect the effort.

I'd agree, but then I'd look like those sprung-on-nostalgia folks who just embarrass themselves.

Yes. The thing that sets Lady Gaga apart from all of the other modern pop acts in most peoples' minds is that she actually cares. Or, if you're a cynical ****, pretends to care. Nothing more. But that extra element of giving a damn means a lot to people because it's always been so rare in pop music.

that's a good point and you could be right. I just can't stand it when older people try and knock popular music now, especially when alot don't listen to it any to even know if they like it.

Yeah, she has to find the balance between taking her work seriously but not taking it too seriously. I think the extended break will be good for her, honestly.

You & Benzene always type up exactly what i'm thinking.
It's funny, cause she can't exactly backtrack & run back to RedOne for her own version of LOUD, now can she? Especially after all the **** she said about Superproducers.
Yet at the same time it's obvious she needs the hits.

I can't with the delusion on this page alone.
By no means did Gaga fail with the BTW era. Give credit where credit is due.

Exactly.
Big artists like Whitney Houston didn't write their own lyrics and you feel connected with Whitney when you listen one of her songs.

Back in the early 2000's, pop included many variates. You had,
UPBEAT POP: Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Pink
POP ROCK: Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, Three Doors Down
R&B/POP: Ashanti, Nelly, Outkast,
And then other prominent artists like Vanessa Calton, Jason Mraz, Trian, Kelly Clarkson.
Pop had lots of variety years back! The radio was filled with many different styles of music from many artists. Coinciding with that, we had a lot of deep songs on pop radio, for example, My Immortal, Here Without You, I'm With You, Everytime, The Voice Within, etc.
Today's pop industry, everything has to be upbeat music like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Rihanna. The deep meaningful songs and the different styles of pop can't make it to the pop radio world since they don't fit the electropop dance format. It's quite sad.
