"Eclectic" is the word used by Gavin DeGraw to describe the much-anticipated follow up to his platinum J Records debut, "Chariot." Of the 20 songs currently in the mix, the New York native says styles he's attacking include comparisons to Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and Maroon 5.
"I'm not marrying myself to any one thing," the singer/songwriter tells Billboard.com.
"I'm really experimenting with styles. I'm not making the most avant-garde thing in the world but I'm definitely attacking a lot of different types of material."
DeGraw hopes to be finished recording in October with a January release date for his as-yet-untitled sophomore release. Songs expected to make the final cut are "Medicate the Kids," "Cop Stop" and "Sometimes You Need a Few Drinks to Fall in Love." I was just about to ask you guys where he was. Good, now I can see him live when he goes on his next tour.
