Whitney Houston's Chauffeur Tells All

Whitney Houston’s devastated chauffeur has revealed the astonishing depths to which the superstar plummeted as she became hooked on crack cocaine.
Limo driver Al Bowman, who drove the singer for two decades, witnessed first hand the singer’s spiral into a drug-fuelled meltdown.
He watched helplessly as Whitney and husband Bobby Brown became wasted in the back almost daily, set fire to his car and enjoyed a wild threesome with an A-list soul singer.
Al also recalls driving Whitney into rundown ghettos in Los Angeles to meet shady drug dealers so the star could score more drugs.
But most shockingly, the star’s drug abuse became so severe that she openly smoked crack in front of her young daughter Bobbi Kristina.
Al said: “I couldn’t believe my eyes, here was Whitney Houston in the back of my limo smoking crack with her six or seven-year-old daughter sat next to her playing with a doll, it was heart-breaking, out of control.
“I’ve driven some big stars over the years – Michael and Janet Jackson, Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue – but Whitney was by far the worst behaved.
“It was tragic to see. Here was this glamorous superstar adored around the world, but in the back of my car she was a rambling drug addict, a complete train wreck.
"It was so sad, I wanted to help her but she was just too out of control and wouldn’t listen to anyone.”
At the height of her fame in the 1980s and 90s, Whitney was one of the world’s best-selling artists. But within years her descent into a drug-addled hell saw the hits dry up – and her millions swallowed up by ruthless dealers.
It is thought Whitney, who will be laid to rest today after her death last weekend from a suspected prescription drug overdose, blew a $100million (£63million) fortune feeding her habit.
Al, 53, first drove around Whitney with her mentor Clive Davis at the height of her fame in the mid-80s. He said: “She was just a sweet girl back then, happy to be out of New Jersey. I would pick her and Clive up for red carpet events and ferry them back and forth, Whitney was so nice.”
But as the years rolled by and Al drove the superstar more he says her transformation was astonishing.
“Things took a turn for the worse when she met Bobby Brown in the early 90s. They started smoking crack in the back of the limo.
"One time it got a little crazy back there, they were smoking and all of a sudden the limo is on fire. I pulled over and got the fire extinguisher and put the fire out.
“It turns out they were free-basing crack, it was like a crack lab in the back of the limo.
“There were little bags, pipes and spoons all over the place, they were using a little butane torch and lit up a bunch of cocktail napkins and the whole place went up.
"Whitney and Bobby had no clue what was going on, they were wasted and just wanted to party it up.”
“Free-basing” is a street term for burning purified cocaine and inhaling the fumes.
In a brutally honest interview with TV chatshow queen Oprah Winfrey in 2009, Whitney finally admitted for the first time that she was addicted to crack in the 90s after marrying R&B star Brown.
She even admitted she spent seven months living in her pyjamas while hooked on the killer drug.
Whitney told how she and Brown would get off their heads smoking cannabis laced with crack.
Al says her drug habit was so bad that Whitney would ask him to drive her into LA’s dangerous ghetto areas to get her next fix.
“She’d ask me to take her to Compton, a rough area of LA, to get crack. It was like a bad rap video,” the chauffeur said.
“It would be super late after Whitney had been partying all night and I’d pull up in the shadiest neighbourhood I’d ever seen.
"Whitney would wind down the window and the dealers were as star struck as anyone else, they thought she was doing a benefit concert or something – but all she wanted was crack.”
The star would hand over rolls of $50 bills and the dealer would give her bags of crack cocaine, cocaine and cannabis.
When she was interviewed on TV in 2002 Whitney famously denied using crack, insisting: “I make too much money to smoke crack. Crack is whack.”
But in the end her powerful voice was ruined by the effects of smoking the deadly drug.
Al, who now organises music events in Phoenix, Arizona, thought he’d seen it all after two decades driving Hollywood’s A-list.
But in 1999 he was horrified when he picked up Whitney and Bobby from their mansion in the Hollywood Hills
He recalled: “Their daughter Bobbi got into the limo with them. Then they would smoke crack right in front of her.
"Whitney would just say, ‘Baby, Mommy and Daddy are doing adult things’, it wasn’t anything major to her.”
Al went on: “Unfortunately, in this job you can’t tell people what to do, it was my livelihood.
“People will live their lives how they want to, there’s not much you can do about it.”
And in the revealing interview, Al says it was Whitney not Bobby who made the most demands over drugs.
“Nine times out of 10 it was Whitney who wanted to buy more drugs,” he said.
In another bizarre incident, Al remembers a wild night in which Whitney and husband Bobby left a Hollywood party with another A-list soul diva – and ended up in a steamy threesome in the back of his white Lincoln limo.
“In private Whitney was a lot more crazy than what the public saw,” he said.
“Her and Bobby were with another very famous singer after a party. I was taking them back to Whitney’s house in the Hollywood hills.
“It was 3am and they were pretty wasted, there was drugs and they were drinking champagne.
“I could see them through the divider glass and they started fooling around. It was only a 15 minute journey but they didn’t care, they got straight to it.
He added: “The woman passenger was another big star at the time, so I was pretty shocked.”
Eventually in 2003, Al decided to stop working for Whitney after her antics and crazy demands became too excessive.
“Driving Whitney was never A to B, there was always a diversion, there was always a problem. She’d get so angry about traffic and always wanted me to be first at the lights.
“She had turned into a monster, real arrogant. She was a diva who felt she had that sense of entitlement. I told her to find another driver.”
He added: “It was tragic to watch a talent like Whitney Houston let herself get out of hand like she did over the years.
"She was bouncing off the walls and aged about 20 years really quickly.”
“Her death is very sad and I feel it could have been avoided.”

I don't think the driver is lying. Whitney was a known crack addict and there's no rose-tinted glass to deny that time of her life never happened or even affected her. The interview was kinda great considering he wasn't really bashing Whitney but lamenting on the fact that Whitney was a sweet girl back then but crack completely changed her life. It's sad but fans of Whitney shouldn't just remember for all the great things she did but also for the things that caused her downfall so we could best avoid it.

-Her vocal coach (he's on every dam tv show stating the obvious, and talking about Whitney's voice)

I mean, as tacky as it is to give this interview (especially so soon) it's not that hard to believe. She obviously died because of her drug addiction.

Honestly when I heard about the threesome my first thought was Mariah. But I don't think that Mariah would ever have a threesome with Bobby Brown.
Depending on his defintion of A list, I think it could be Chaka Khan.

Chaka Khan did say she used to get high with Whitney and Bobby.
But, either way this is tasteless and tacky of him, even if this is true. Anything for a buck I guess. Ugh. Let the woman rest in peace.
