I don't know if you guys know how we track sales of albums in the US, and other physical or digital music in the US, including Singles. Here how, we do it, sales data from cash registers is collected from 14,000 retail, mass merchant, and non-retail (online stores) outlets in Canada and the U.S.
A barcode is on the back of every CD or cassette. When the Canadian/U.S. customer is about to buy an album or single, the store clerk runs the barcode across a scanner. The sale is put into the store's computer and the sale data is also sent to Nielsen Media Research offices for the region.
Anyway in a few months, I will be monitoring the system editing it for any number mistakes (cause it ain't always right) then I will be sending the data information to Charts like the Billboard.
So, since I'm a big Janet fan I will CHEAT! Yes! I'd do anything for her.
So what I'm going to do when "20 Years Old" is released is put in incorrect sales for its opening week and other weeks, sales that don't look to obvious!
lets say how much? 650,000 first week sales??? 764,000? I WONT GO OVER 1Ms because that would be too obvious.
By the way I was responsible for incorrect sales for, Paris Hilton's #18 debut on the Hot 100. Sorry guys but I love that song to death! I can't remember how much I think I typed in 60,000 digital sales for that song.
And also I was responsible for Shakira's Hips Don't Lie #1 debut. Love that song too and her 267,000 digital first week sale .
Oh and Guys so that you know that Beyonce 'Deja Vu' song is doing way BETTER than its actually doing, oh my im such a bad guy, I've always hated Beyonce, i dont want her to recieve more money! .
