Britney Spears is ready for her close-up. She’s done Glee, and now Britney is angling for a recurring role on Smash.
According to a pal, Britney, 30, is already hooked on the NBC show — which takes place around a fictional Marilyn Monroe-based Broadway musical — and she’s working hard to join the cast, even for just a few episodes.
A friend says Britney has always wanted to perform on Broadway, and this show would give her that chance — on TV at least. “She’s met with producers, and they’re looking for the appropriate role for her,” says the friend.
i hope she does this. i like the show and it recently dropped in ratings...so having brit brit on there would bring some more viewers again.
