I got an advance of the new album this morning. This is the first track, and I am guessing, the first and only single from the disc. It even has crossover appeal. Keep an ear out for it. I hope it gets the airplay of their last two singles.

Yeah, I have heard that live version (Coachella, maybe?) at least twice. The new version is over 11 minutes long. I figured this was the one featuring Frusciante, but the liner notes do not say which specific tracks that he plays. Maybe all? Either way it is good to have him back with the band. And at least they went from 5 to 8 songs on the new disc!

Seeing as you got an advance copy...when is the official release date?

I've also heard he's playing guitar on all tracks.

The sticker on the CD cover says August 21, 2006. But that obviously makes little sense. I would assume 08.22 also.
