Some good sis posted yesterday this video on SYG, and I found it quite interesting.
You know, there are a lot of people who think Beyoncé is a writing credits thief. As this absurd belief appears in every discussion where Beyoncé is involved, I thought I should post this video so this argument could be invalidated once and for all.
The first half of the video talks about Beyoncé's involvement as a songwriter, that is, lyricist and composer, and it includes videos from the recording studio and producers' statements. The second half, a series of examples where Beyoncé acknowledges other songwriters' work in her songs, like the humble musician she is. This video demonstrates that her involvement in her music is undeniable despite not being a natural songwriter.
Now you've been properly clocked by Beyoncé, you're ready to appreciate her music even more.
You're welcome.
uhu.... and the sis beyonce has been clocked by a songwriter for stealing her credits! Your point being? Obviously nobody brags about beyonce's writing skills. To me that shows that she does barely anything or nothing at all! She does not have a case as a songwriter and the hive should not try it!
Didn't really see anything we don't already know. It affirms that her involvement is generally limited to writing the vocal lines, and presenting the ideas that her co-writers articulate into lyrics.
"Sure, she did arrange some of the background, but when you start singing the song, don't start saying: 'I wrote this for my girls.'"
Didn't Ne-Yo deny that? Also, you can see in the video Beyoncé has no problems in admitting other songwriters' work. Why would it be an exception with her good friend Ne-Yo?
