Another genre of music that was very popular in western Europe in the 90s was happy hardcore. This was a very simple type of dance music with repetitive lyrics and a simple melody. Two artists that basically defined the genre were Scooter and Dune. This is a great song by the latter.
Well, every continent has its stinkers. This was Boyzone's first hit single (yes, it was a hit, and yes, they had many more). It is just painful to watch! Which is exactly why you should.
This was a gigantic hit in Europe but did nothing overseas. Sophie is a great British pop singer with a very classy voice. Her new album should come out this year.
This is one of my favorite dance songs from the 90s, it was a big hit in Europe, but only reached #80 on the Hot 100. There's just one guy behind the Nightcrawlers, a Scottish DJ/vocalist called John Reid. He had a couple more minor hits, but none as big as this one. The video is simple, but I think it's really cool for some reason
This song, released in 1999, was one of the many released during the two-step/garage craze. Personally I think it is quite boring music, but this song in particular is quite good and was arguably the biggest hit in the genre. It also launched Craig David's career.
The video of this song is a must see. It's about the tragic life of a teddybear who dreams of being a rock star. I just remembered it yesterday and it was so great to see again. The song itself is okay.
