I'll go with impact. But both are important.

Bad Romance: Impact

OT: Of course you can be both Successful and make an impact, or neither, but I wanted people to choose one, which is difficult.

As for me, success is nice, but Impact, when you've made a change to Pop Music seems much better to me.

Peaked outside the top 40 on Billboard. Regarded as a classic. Everyone in the music world knows the song. Her best charting song? "Tell Mama" virtually forgotten.

Bad Romance is not as big of an impact as many would like to see. BTW has more impact by miles.

Impact is long-lasting.

However, both can go hand-in-hand.

Yeah, that's a great example. A lot of people know songs that are classics that weren't High on the Hot 100, ie Blue Monday by New Order for its sound in Synthpop.

MC Hammer and that album hold a decent amount of impact.
