Kylie Minogue has revealed that she "fell to pieces" when she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.
And the recovering pop princess admits it was her family who helped pull her through.
In an emotional interview with TV host Cat Deeley, Kylie recalls the moment doctors told her and her parents Ron and Carol that she had breast cancer.
The 38-year-old said: "The moment my doctors told me, I went silent. We all fell to pieces, but I was saying, 'No, I'm getting a plane,' and they said, 'No, you're not... sit down.'"
Kylie was determined to continue with the Australian leg of her world tour, but her parents convinced her to abandon it and start treatment immediately.
Following the diagnosis in May, she had the tumour removed and underwent a course of chemotherapy, causing her to lose her hair.
Doctors have now given her a clean bill of health and she's feeling on top of the world. She said: "I feel like I've got a second chance at life. It's like a new life."
Sporting her funky new hairstyle, Kylie made her first appearance since her illness at Elton John's White Tie and Tiara ball last week.
Kylie: The Interview can be seen exclusively on Sky One on Sunday 16th July at 9pm.
