Young Money is a mess. This is the same label that released the first single from TCIV eight months before the album actually came out, & the same label that, a month ago, had 3-4 Drake singles out on radio at one time, all gaining popularity.
I absolutely love Young Money artists, but sometimes the eras are handled so disorganizedly.

Def Jam stop using the "current trend"?!?!
Def Jam have been doing remixes for DECADES. So it's not a "current trend" at all. And why on Earth would they stop it? Because pop artists started using remixes last year? What's the big deal. RnB and hip hop artists have been doing remixes since the 80's, and getting to #1 because of some of them. They're not going to stop now just because Katy Perry has started doing them.
I kind of agree with you about Young Money, but I think that's mainly because the artists on that label have so much freedom, that they can do ridiculous things like release 4 official singles before their album, or release a song as a single but not make a music video. Also, I don't think they care that much about Hot 100 success. At least Lil Wayne and Drake, what they care about most is their first week album sales, so they'll do whatever they can to build hype for it, even if they get lots of flop singles from it.
Interscope used to be the best urban label by FAR. They completely dominated everything in terms of mainstream urban music until 2008 when they completely abandoned urban music.
