If Marry The Night was the lead single as originally planned, would the song have been a success? Or was it destined to flop.

Probably a hit, since it was the lead single. But having BTW as the lead single was a better choice! It's an easier going song, as MTN is a bit more advanced.

Success. The hype alone was astronomical for the lead single.

It would have been huge. Gaga had a lot of hype surrounding the launch of the ''Born This Way'' era.

The hype pays off, it would sell just as much as BTW did.

It would probably do better. Marry the Night is an amazing song that didn't get enough attention. If this and the video for it was released rather than Born This Way.. It would be HUGE.

Everybody likes the song, #1 for sure. Even as second single.

No matter what she had dished out as first single would go straight to #1,and yes, even "The Queen". The hype had made her a juggernaut at that time.

The lead single wasn't going to flop no matter what it was.

However, I do think it would have done better if it were released earlier in the era and not after the predictable, boring barn anthem single.

It can't be forgotten, because the general public probably don't realise it even existed But amongst fans, I think Marry The Night will be a standout song from BTW

Marry The Night ***** all over Born This Way, it'd be a huge hit for sure.

It should have been the second single instead of Judas. I think it could have smashed early on in the era.
