What's a good age for kids to start watching horror movies? Obviously they cannot get into the theater (unless with parental supervision), but with technology nowadays, they can easily watch it when it leaks online or bootleg on the internet. So, when is an appropriate age for kids to watch scary horror films?

And what was the first horror movie you watched and at what age? Did you regret it?

I say around 10, but I was watching horror movies when I was like 3 or 4.

I've been watching horror movies since I was in elementary school. I remember watching Hannibal, The Grudge, The Ring, Secret Window and the scariest movie ever for me was Darkness Falls. My ass would NOT go to bed

It's funny because I remember watching the Saw films in theaters and my friend saw these teenagers there and she was like "these kids are way too young to be watching stuff" and I agree. But then I think about it.. My ass has been watching horror movies at a young age, younger than them.

I think I started watching horror films around 6? 7? I never was afraid of them though. I thought they looked stupid.

I used to watch horror movies all the time to 10 till 17..but haven't since i dad pass on, really weird, I tried watching The Ring 2 with my bf last Saturday and i was freaking out having nightmares after watching half and that movie isnt even that scary and i've watched it over 10 times.

It depends on the kid. I think I could have handled it much younger but I didn't get into them til this year, at 18. Now that I'm into them, my brother watches them with me, and he's 12. He's fine with them for the most part but I wouldn't want to start my kids any younger than that.

My first horror movie was Scream... my best friend loved the series and when the fourth came out, we had a marathon where we watched all 3 and then saw 4. I love the series, and have sense become obsessed with slasher movies. Won't watch Saw and iffy about Final Destination, but mindless, cheesy, blood is my thing right now, hahaha.

Well, I've been watching since forever, but I'd say it's totally up to how the kid reacts. I was probably 4 the first time I saw the original Halloween and I've been a huge horror fan ever since.

It depends really. I was watching Stephen King movies and whatnot with my grandma when I was 6, but I don't think that's a great age for every child.

It depends on the child. Some are more mature and can handle the film, even at 5. It also depends on how graphic the film is.

It all depends. If my child has a decent grasp on what is real and what is fiction, hell yeah I'd let he/she watch whatever they'd like

Exactly the same here. I was watching them since before I could even remember, and I don't think it hurt me...but I don't think I'll let my kids watch them that young

I love horror movies. I've watched them since 10 or something and to this day I still get scared with many, but never had problems with sleeping I always went to bed thinking about some ghost dragging me but was too damn tired to worry about it I did have many nightmares though.
