Some people are quick to write Rihanna off as a talentless hack who's just managed impeccably with no control over her career whatsoever.
That pushed me to do some research, and I found out that Robyn Fenty is actually credited in a good chunk of material.
Out of all the songs she has released, she has credits for:
- Birthday Cake
- Break It Off
- Cheers (Drink To That)
- Cockiness (I Love It)
- Do Ya Thang
- Farewell
- Firebomb
- G4L
- A Girl Like Me
- Hard
- Here I Go Again
- Hole In My Head
- Hypnotized
- Kisses Don't Lie
- The Last Song
- Mad House
- Music Of The Sun
- Now I Know
- Red Lipstick
- Rockstar 101
- Rude Boy
- Run This Town
- Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)
- Te Amo
- Wait Your Turn
- Watch N Learn
- Willing To Wait
- You Da One
It is also known that she always claim to be in control of the era's concepts and main guidelines, as well as hand-picking the songs she wants to do or not, and we have thus far never received any indication of it being the other way around.
I, personally, think of her as the most interesting pop girl out there today. She's a fashion icon, but not customy/embarrassing as others, she always do current better than anyone else doing it, and she always have something in her album that the rest try to get into (electro pop with GGGB, B&D with RR, all the WMN? rip-off after Loud, and all the calls Calvin has gotten after WFL).
I think that's finally time for everyone to come to terms with Rihanna being one fo the reigning pop divas in the game, far ahead from her contemporaries and not so far behind her predecessors.
I will have to thank the haters to make me look into this matter. Now please, where do I get a navy cap?
Oh wow. You seriously put everything very nicely! Well even though this thread will end badly since Rihanna's name attached to it,you my friend pretty much clocked those haters EFFORTLESSLY.
She's a chameleon in this industry, she's able to mold herself and reinvent herself over and over again, that's why she's been able to fit in just perfectly in mainstream and still be #1.
