Even before that. They act like "Move" by Ludacris never existed. ATL and other southern sounds were blowing up around late 2002 and they really exploded in 2003.

Yeah! is the biggest crunk-R&B song of all time! Usher DID have something to do with that.

Ludacris' Move was a one-off. The rest of that album was full of stuff like Splash Waterfalls. Usher's Yeah was what put crunk at the vanguard of commercial music. I do not even know how you try to dispute this when the woman in your avatar shows his influence.

You act like Usher had a bunch of "Yeah!"'s on his album. Like I said, Crunk was already big circa 2003. Just because "Yeah!" was the biggest record of that time doesn't mean he started the crunk movement. Lil Jon did. End of.

That's better. I'd give you that. But Crunk&B was a fad which lasted like two seconds. The only major record after "Yeah!" was "Goodies." All the others either had minor success or just flopped off somewhere. It wasn't really a big trend.

And the hip hop/RnB era was from 2001 up to 2006 I'd say. I don't think it'll ever get that big again, although it's looking to be making a comeback the past few months looking a the charts.

I'd say though, that the artist who's probably had the most to do with it is Adele. I know she's not a proper hip hop artist, but she's taken people away from synths and dance. She's made radio realize people want to hear something different. The movement away from synths and electro that we're seeing in the charts now paves the way for RnB, rock, hip hop, country, indie, etc. to make comebacks. It's all very exciting, although I'm not sure how Lady Gaga and Ke$ha must feel about this. I guess we'll have to expect more You and I and Sleazy-type songs from them if they want to move along with the trends.
