As of now (worldwide-speaking), I see Lana Del Rey, Madonna and Whitney Houston (yes, as it was for Amy Winehouse last year)..as major "pop" sensations this year so far (and yes ADELE and Rihanna too..but they're actually linked to the previous year)..

And U.S. number ones include ADELE and Kelly Clarkson..so I've got no complain as of now..

SO FAR 2012 has been boring in terms of pop music...

Gaga has been pretty much out of the spotlight since the beginning of the year.

Beyonce has been nurturing her baby since the 1st week of the year

Britney's nowhere to be found

Rihanna seems to be doing more candids instead of Talk show interviews and such.

Katy just recently released something in the past few days but before that,I haven't heard much of her...

2012 might be the year of the underdog: Ciara and Christina come out with albums,Beyonce is working on 2 projects,and Gaga is working on her next album.

Not forgetting Madonna's return,Rihanna possibly releasing a new album this year,Lana's debut,Pink and No Doubt releasing albums,and Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj releasing albums

Also,Kesha will show Kreayshawn who is boss LMAOOOOOOO.

P!nk will be back to slay.

This year is exciting. New Nicki, Madonna, Ke$ha and then there is Lana Del Rey. There are probably going to be some more new artists that rack up some success as well. This year is promising actually.
