Any listeners heard this crossover band yet? I thought they were a little to "screamy" at first, like the lead singer needed a bowel movement while recording. I've been hearing Writing on the Walls at least a couple of times daily. They just released their CD this week. I don't expect many hear have heard it. But if you have, chip in your opinions. This might be a future purchase.

I really dislike them. They are in my opinion, just another screamo band that sounds like every other one in the genre.

I'm not too familiar with Christian-metal. So who else is in this "genre?" The screamy part is pretty obvious, but the lyrics are pretty strong after getting to know them. I haven't heard any other tracks from the new disc. They seem like they could catch on .

Today's Billboard print gives a nice review on the new album. One of my favorite quotes was that sometimes you couldn't understand what the guy was screaming, but it doesn't make it feel any less cathartic. Something like that. I think I'm going to get this one.

I'm supposed to hear the new album soon [damn you, MC Steven.] I can't believe it might go over 100k this coming week. The last one, They're Only Chasing Safety, is really good. I usually hate screamo bands, but Underoath are a rare exception. I like them, Emery, and Dead Poetic, who should also break out this year with Vices [features guest vocals on a track by Chino from Deftones.]

The best definition for a Christian metal band would be Zao, although they are self-proclaimed to simply be a metal band whose members are Christian [most of them,] not a Christian metal band. It might not make a difference, but I understand what they mean. Underoath are Christian but I don't consider them metal at all, except the Cries of the Past and Changing of Times albums [entirely different singer and sound.]

Well it's out now, so you can hear as soon as you like. "Screamy" doesn't bother me too much as long as it's not constant. Never heard of Zao. But the old screaming bands like Biohazard and Coal Chamber just had no writing and rhythm to me. This band sounds promising. Hopefully I'll know by the end of the day.

i downloaded some tracks from the cd and i really like them even though ive heard there stuff before.
