So, I've learned a lot about payola and how it works, so i wanted to ask something. Does Payola exist in Christian music? Do labels pay radio stations to play their artists' music just like they do for Top 40 radio?

What would be the point of that? Yes Payola does exist, many pop stars use it. Although but I don't know about Christian music, don't think so.

For that, exist WORLD radio station and Gospel/Christian radio stations, the gospel/christian radio statios don't work with payola

and for those questioning, as far as I know the christian song that peaked the higher on Billboard Hot 100 was "The Lord's Prayer" by Sister Janet Mead at #04

Christian acts create music not for the radio or for a hit or for sales. They make music for people to be lead to Christ. They're not making music to become famous but to make Christ famous and give him glory.
