Having never heard Hips Don't Lie, I'm not sure it would be considered. The most memorable songs are the ones that cross multiple formats, not just rock out metalheads or keep poptards content for a week.

As weak as I think Dance Dance from Fall Out Boy is, it seems to be the one carrying over. Billboard Radio Monitor shows Dance Dance #2 on Modern, and #9 on Mainstream Top 40. It'll be tough to find another song to achieve those heights this year on those 2 different charts. Especially with Dani California bombing outside of the rock world.

Anyways, Brian is right, it's definately "Hips Don't Lie" or "Bad Day," but I think Daniel Powter has won this one, contending high in the United States, UK, and Japan (3 biggest world markets), when Shakira failed in the latter.

Yeah, sure, DC is bombing outside of rock radio. Even though it is the #2 gainer on Hot AC radio and has a pretty decent gain on pop radio as well, yeah, it's bombing.
