Den Haag (a big and important city in the Netherlands) gets a gay-friendly housing complex. COC (Dutch gay organization) does collaborate with two housing associations. It would be the first gay-friendly housing complex in the Netherlands. Gays and people who support them, can buy or rent a house in the gay-friendly house complex. This whole idea will pass through if there is enough demand for. This part of the project will start soon.
What's the fuss about? There's a LGBT complex not too far from where I live (I wouldn't dare step foot in it). There's probably more around the world too.
This project is (mostly) for people who are over 50.
I guess the COC started this for the gay people who live in nursing/ retirement-homes (or houses for the elderly but still live on their own) can't be openly gay in those homes.
Since there is still some kind of a "taboo" on being gay between the old folks.
