Island Def Jam has dropped R&B artist Christina Milian, less than a month after her latest album release, So Amazin’, failed to sell well.

The New York Daily News alleges that Milian drew the ire of Island Def Jam CEO L.A. Reid, after he reportedly pleaded her to record, “S.O.S. (Rescue Me).”

The song was eventually recorded by Milian’s label mate Rihanna, whose album Girl Like Me sold 115,000 copies in its debut week.

In comparison, Milian went with the Cool and Dre-produced, “Say I” as the lead single off her new album. Despite the catchy hook and a featured guest appearance from Young Jeezy on that track, So Amazin’ sold 50,202 in its first week.

Milian’s public relations rep said it was a mutual decision between the label and the singer to end their relationship.

Despite her relationship with Island Def Jam being brought to an abrupt halt, the Internet Movie Database reports that Milian is slated to appear in a film called Pulse due this year.

Pretty much, in fact, "Unfaithful" would have been amazing, instead of lackluster if that was also given to Christina Milian (as it stand now, the only thing good about it are the lyrics and absolutely not the vocals). Islands Of Def Jam is just not a very good record label to anyone right now except Mariah Carey (see FeFe Dobson thread).

Let's face it. People rather support Beyonce than Christina Milian. We know Christina was dropped by Island Def Jam because of lackluster sales and Jay-Z's loving of Bee and million-spending by paying radio stations to play Deja Vu, they probably did that with Check On It. That's so not right! Christina should've done well, we live in an unfair world where crap like Chris Brown, Dem Franchize Boys, Lil Jon, Yung Joc, new Aggy disaster song, 50 Cent and Beyonce do well. Admit it, that's the truth.

Christina Milian is good. Say I is one of her best singles. It's a million times better than Unfaithful and that gets overplayed. People just don't know how good she is, thier missing out. They need to promote it more. They tried playing her song on the radio, but it never picked up here. It just flopped. I don't get it.
