All of this debate is going to seem foolish in 20 years when Beyonce is renowned as a legend of our time. She's probably one of the 3 best vocalists of this generation and the reason everything she sings is a huge hit is because anything she sings will sound great with that voice.

So many people recognize that, and isn't that was vocalists should be recognized by? I'm really fed up with all the "vocalists" worming their way up the ladder.

Beyonce has RECOGNIZABLE talent, thats why she excels in what she does. You can't get mad at a figure skater because they can do a quad axel.

This lipsyncing nightmare is nowhere near one of the best vocalists this generation. If you want

those you can look to Clarkson, Aguilera, and Underwood or a few others. Atleast they don't have

the nerve to lipsync their songs at award shows where the record skips on them. If anything she

is far and away the most overrated singer of our generation. Most of her music is trash, her

album was one of the worst this gen if not the worst, and lets face it...radio will play

anything she is attached to. Thats just the way it is really, no if ands or buts about it.

Beyonce has done NOTHING to even come close to a legend. She hasn't made any impact whatsoever

on the industry. She hasn't done one thing where everyone talked about her or even bothered to

care really.

Basically what it all comes down to is that she is an overexposed person. Her album had the most

lavish publicity I have ever seen for an album and yet it didn't do as well as Mariah's or

Usher's which had little to no publicity. All her record company is trying to do is force her

ass into every magazine, promotion deal, or movie when no one wants to see her. They are trying

to push her down everyone's throats and its just sad to see that radio has fallen for it (not to

mention a little payola here and there since it has been proven that Sony uses that techinique).

At the end of the day her solo **** is just as bad as Rhianna's or Ciara's, there is nothing

about it that stands out or is original.

The only time she will ever been known for something was when she was in Destiny's Child.

Atleast those songs are memorable and catchy.

Who knows if Beyonce will be around in 10 years...you can't predict pop music. I like this song though...I don't get the hate, it's catchy. Not as good as CIL though.

I like it, but there is no departure from "Crazy In Love." In other words, I don't think this shows any growth at all as an artist, of anything it's a step back.

The whole album has this "live" feel to it. CIL was one song. This isnt copyin it, its just in the same genre. DIL was not like CIL cuz that was the only one like it on the album.

I partly agree with you. Beyonce is extremely overrated. She is perceived as THE superstar of our generation. Her face and music is EVERYWHERE. I truly think this is why she has so many haters.

Her album, Dangerously In Love, is a good album. But Jesus Christ, why all those awards and overal praise???? The album loses the listener after track 8 ("Signs") and leads into the ever-dragging "Speechless." This is followed by even more filler with the generic duet with Jay-Z, "That's How You Like It"; the boring and corny duet with the late, great Luther, "The Closer I Get To You"; the recycled DC track, "Dangerously In Love 2"; that horrible interlude that makes Beyonce sound like she's high as a bird; and the boring-ass "Gift From Virgo." Oh yeah and that pathetic bonus track, "Daddy."

To see "Dangerously In Love" receive so much critical praise angered me even more. Beyonce's fellow pop contemporary (Christina Aguilera) was made to look like a fool after releasing a pop classic "Stripped" and Beyonce receives praise for the filler-ful DIL??? Insanity! And then Grammy night, Lord that sucked. Beyonce walked away with FIVE GRAMMYS while Aguilera walked away with only one.

But interestingly, Stripped sold 10 Million in the end with alot of bad press and DIL sold 8.5 Million with overexposure. Other artists have sold better than Beyonce but received less exposure. Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" is on it's way to selling 11 Million internationally. Mariah Carey's most recent effort, TEOM, has sold just under 10 Million and should hit that mark by the end of the year. Other artists like Coldplay, U2, Green Day, Usher, Evanescence, etc. most recent efforts have sold more than Beyonce since 2003 yet they don't get half the exposure Beyonce does.

W/e, I'm done. This world is filled with followers and tools to society. People will like what they are told to like, people will act ike what they are told to act like, and people will live like what they are told to live like. Change is impossible.

Beyonce never got overly praised for DIL. And from what I saw, the only person who trashed Stripped were critics. About 90% of people who bought it(from what I saww) said Stripped was really well. It wasnt the same for DIL. I, myself, think Stripped is better than DIL. Bee got 5 grammys but only one was for the album, which she obviously one. The other 4 were for songs.

And another reason she sold less cuz she had SO MANY haters from DC split and Kelly Rowland floppin(Bee being blamed)

I am a HUGE fan, but Beyonce's name carries a lot of her material... Her music, like I said earliar, is good but it's not any better than any other quality artist out today. Yet she sees so much more sucess than the average artist. Like this poster stated, if Milian sung this track COI, Me Myself & I, Naughty Girl, etc. etc. etc., no one would care.
