Lip synching always looked bad, but some people had free passes because the public loved them enough. I don't think I need to name names. It damaged their integrity as an "artist" but the public let them off the hook. But that was a different time. Things have changed.

I'm not fully anti-lip syncing but can't say I'm a big fan. It depends on the singer. I'd be dissapointed if Avril or Taylor Swift did it but I wouldn't mind so much if Madonna or Britney mimed as long as they has a big performance to go with it of course. I dont think Ballads should be mimed though

She may not know how to watch her breathing while she's dancing, but she's one of the few girls out there that can own a show with just her and a piano (and live singing, obviously).

It's not really that difficult to understand. People are OK with lip-synching when the artist is putting on a spectacle of a show like Madonna did yesterday. Or like she did here:



They were OK with Britney doing it when she had heavy choreo. But ever since what happened at her 2008 Australian concerts, the media latched on to her being a lip-syncher who puts on a lazy show and tarnished her image. It's sort of unfair that she was the one crucified but that's how it happens. It didn't help that her image was already hurt by her breakdown and the negative perception of all teen pop idols (see the hate Bieber gets).

You were too severe and radical ...... I know theres some performances when she abuse from lip-syncing for example the S&M billboard peformance was visually good but I don't find any excuse of miming for Britney ..... But In this case, I've watched the video of that "HIAM" performance, and I dance moves are not complicated but I found it energetic and enterntaining, I didn't see on that performance anything different from what Madonna did on the superbowl honestly.
