The song sucks and that's that. End of story. The only person who can destroy Madonna's career is Madonna, not the likes of Lady Gaga fans. Glad the OP thinks we're that influential.

GMAYL wasn't the best first single choice, especially for a much anticipated comeback album.
I was expecting this super-fresh, feel good, dance single that would raise the bar.

GMAYL isn't terrible, but it really shouldn't of been released as a lead single.

I'm very glad you took the initiative and said what we're all thinking. This Tsuko character is doing the most.

GMAYL is bad. Embarrassingly so. But I do not think it will, in the long run, underperform.

What don't people understand?? When you preorder the album, you automatically get GMAYL and it doesn't count as a single sale.

And look at that, MDNA is sitting pretty atop 50 iTunes charts. I'm sure GMAYL will rise after the Super Bowl and once this special preoder promotion ends.

Personally, I don't really like We Found Love (and I do like GMAYL at the moment). But lots of songs I don't like are massive hits, and lots of songs I love flop.

What I mean was I think it was silly for so many people to say We Found Love was flopping. I myself, wasn't sure either way whether it'd be a hit or not, but why on Earth would anyone say a Rihanna song is flopping when it's only been out 2 days? It's too soon to tell.

Because everybody who's buying GMAYL by pre-ordering MDNA isn't getting counted in the chart. So they're saying MDNA being #1 means a lot of people are still "buying" the song.

However, I'm not sure how much difference it makes, since I don't think you need to sell that much to get to #1 on the album chart, although it is still very impressive that Madonna has managed it.
