Hype is a good thing... Hype is NEVER EVER, EVER, ****ING EVER a bad thing. How does hype ruin someone? Sure its ammunition for haters if she doesn't live up to the hype, but who really gives a **** about some 12 year olds running around saying she didn't live up to the hype?
Hype is a good thing,
It gets people going.
The album of the decade, of the century, of the millenium, of the universe disagrees.
As long as Gaga doesn't string the album hype over 10 months, release the lead single 3-4 months before the album release, and doesn't say anything that makes the album seem amazing beyond belief, the album and Gaga will be fine.
For the record, "Hype" is one of the reason why Lady Gagas Born This Way is even at 6M copys sold. Hype gets people interested. If hype can convince my brother(in a general sense) who only listens to music 1 hour a day(taking a ride to and from his friends house), who wouldn't have even considering buying an album let alone a Lady Gaga album to buy one.... I say hype did its job.
The louder you scream the more likely it is you will be heard.

Slay! I just thought about you listening to "X" But yeah hype is good as long as she doesn't deem it the best of the generation or anything.

Such an accomplishment selling just because of the insane hype.
