What did it do for Nicole Scherzinger? She's more hated now... but other than that, not much has changed...
In my opinion, nothing. Judges on those shows are criticized so much, they're so hated... it would not do anything good for Nicki. Maybe she'd get to perform like Nicole did last season, so a temporary boost in album/single sales... but she could still perform on a results show without being a judge.
i'm here for that album boost though...but everything else irrelevant and useless. lol i could picture her saying at the end of the each audition "BUY PINK FRIDAY: ROMAN RELOADED ITS ROMAN BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTCCH LOL"

If she shows charisma and is likeable then both. Either way is good but as far as I know she was considered for season one and SHE REJECTED IT.

Nicki is in her peak as a popstar/rapper. Her album comes out in April. X factor starts auditioning in May. I cannot see her sacrificing promoting her album for the X Factor. Simon trying to hype up the show methinks.
