“Calling W.E. a film gives Madonna and her collaborators too much credit. W.E. alternately recalls a perfume commercial that doesn’t know when to end, an elaborate lingerie fashion show, and the longest, most pretentious, most historically minded Red Shoe Diaries episode ever filmed, with Cornish filling in for David Duchovny and his trusty dog as the filter through which viewers experience a hot-blooded, heavy-breathing, super-softcore love affair.”

“Madonna’s second go at directing a feature film, leaves one wishing she’d find other creative outlets for those times when she’s bored with the pop-star life.”

“What on earth is the point of a Madonna product, in any medium, if it contains not a single orgy?”
She simply doesn't have the knack for directing feature films. Madonna and film go together like oil and water. I would've thought she would realize this by now, but it doesn't seem to be sinking in.
The critics diss every single movie she's done. They will never take her seriously. I wish she used a fake name. An then later revealed it was her movie.
