Fantasia - I Believe

She is, by far, the most talented Idol to have ever stepped foot on that stage. I mean, if this performance doesn't send chills down your spine then something has got to be the matter with you, lol. This is the best performance (aside from "Summertime" which was also performed by her) in idol history.... HANDS DOWN! And the crowds/judges reaction afterwards says it all. Just truly amazing!!!

I've gotta disagree. In my opinion, there will never be anyone close to Kelly.
Fantasia never did anything for me.

nah, kelly tore it up with I Surrender & Natural Woman vocally, A Moment Like This emotionally and It's Raining Men performance wise

if kelly would have released I Believe as a single, I think it would have been her best.

I don't remember Kelly ever getting the type of reaction that Fantasia recieved from any of her performances! I remember after Fantasia performed Summertime, the judges said something to the effect of, 'that was the best performance in idol hisory!'

Kelly is a good vocalist and all, but Fantasia just has that presence about her. Her performances, especially this one, were so emotionally driven. I'd rather see fantasia perform than kelly anyday!

Then you don't remember the results show performance of Without You. It was so good that Simon, while saying goodbye to Nikki, declared that Kelly had given the best performance of the competition.

And, maybe my ears deceived me, but didn't he say the same thing with a certain runner-up this year? And Carrie's Alone got just as much praise as Summertime.

The biology teacher I had last semester looked a lot like Fantasia--but from what I can vaguely remember, Fantasia was not a hideous froglike bitch.

Wow thats an amazing performance i dunno why i missed it.
She sounds like mary j in some parts of the song. But actually i think her best performance in the American Idol was when she sang "The Greatest love of all"

Fantasia sucks. She beat Diana DiGarmo, what an accomplishment.

Definately the ugliest. She isn't successful. And she has a 18 year old kid.

She was nominated for 4 grammys. Her debut album sold 2 million copies. On the sales chart, "I Believe" spent 11 consecutive weeks at number one (10 weeks in Canada), giving it the longest consecutive stay at #1 on that chart for an American Idol contestant. The CD, "I Believe", went on to become the top selling single of 2004 in the U.S and has since been certified double platinum by the CRIA. She has won 3, count them 3, billboard awards. She is also currently working on a movie about her life. And her kid is not 18

if that isn't successful. then I'd hate to see what an ACTUAL unsuccessful artists stats would look like

Oh please, Fantasia is the worst! The only reason why they ever said that 'Summertime' was the best performance ever (not to sound racist) is because it is a song about slavery being sung by a black girl. There was nothing vocally amazing about that performance. Kelly Clarkson is and always will be the best person ever on Idol, and the judges even to this day still say that Kelly is vocally the best winner yet.

10 weeks? riiight. SALES WISE, A moment like this broke a record and was #1 for 2 weeks on the billboard hot100, fantasia was for only 1. Kelly gets airplay and won 2/3 grammys, she has countless awards far more than fantasia. ALSO, how could they say Kelly's performance was best of the seasons when she was the first season. also they say that TONS of time, so its invalid. each season there's one standout performance

first off I never said that Kelly was unsucessful, so why are you given me her statistics like I said she was a flop.

keep in mind ladies and gits, I'm not arguing that Fantasia is more sucessful than Kelly because I know she isn't. Alls i'm saying is, Fantasia, IMO, is more talented. There isn't an idol, in the history of the series, that got that sort of crowd/judge reaction off a single performance. If so, then show me!
