Does anyone of you guys use ATRL slang in real life? It could be either intentional or not, or just by accident that your inner queen came out fuming and it couldn't control itself...

Here's my story:

I work at Tim Hortons, a coffee fast-food chain in Canada. It's not a full restaurant, but more of like a Food Court kind of thing, so our space is limited and that we only offer so little in the menu. One Saturday morning..

Customer: "I was wondering if you guys serve this blah blah blah"
Me: Sorry we don't serve it here.
Customer: "Why don't you serve it here?"
Me: We're a small location, we don't have enough space in here.
Customer: "Really?"
Me: Yeah, we're basic here.
Customer: "Okay let me call him"

She gets on her phone and dials a number.

Customer: "I'm at Tim Hortons, what do you want? They don't have it here, They're basic here"

After she's left, I realized I blurted out an ATRL slang by accident... And then I immediately thought of some of the basic girls we have on this site.

Yes, this really happened.

i overuse the word/phrase "clock" or "clock their tea" or "let me clock your tea"

and i deff use the word "basic" wayyy too much.

im pretty sure i use other words, i just cant seem to think of any right now.

Those arent ATRL slang words.

They're gay lingo that have evolved from the gays to the "*** hags" to their homegirls to the world.

I don't use ATRL lingo intentionally, but when it happens like in the OP's story I laugh so much.

In classes when teachers/peers have criticized students' work I think about it in the context of dragging.

Bey is secretly reading ATRL.

I use "dead" and "who gon check me?" sometimes.

I was arguing with someone and I said

Once I said "sis".

...then I felt stupid.

I use "death" and "tbh" all the time in Facebook.

I was seriously just thinking of making this thread the other day when I asked my brother to "show me the receipts" when he was telling me a story hahahaha

Never. I wouldn't be friends with someone if the majority of their vocabulary consisted of internet slang.

But ATRL did not make up these words. I notice people outside of ATRL like Twitter or YouTube would use these words as well, like "stan" or "pressed." So it's not just an ATRL thing.

"basic" isn't really gay or ATRL lingo. People here say basic all of the time. Now "clocked", "tea", "teh", etc are a different story.

I once repiled to a friends text with the word "reported". They were confused as ****.

I told my manager once 'I'm not here for that.' too.

This literally made me LOL.

I say, "Girl, please," a lot...but that's not really an ATRL thing. I usually speak more of the general internet lingo out loud. I say "I can't" a lot and "All of the awards/emotions/etc"
Other than those three, though, I don't normally speak internet outside the internet.

I told my boss the same thing this morning when she asked me to file this stack of papers. It fit the situation tho, so it didn't really sound like slang. I had my cousin saying "knocked out the game" after he heard me threatening people with it so many times. I used to always say it, especially if we were really playing a game.
