hmmmm I see what vh1 is trying to do. They're gonna milk out all these trl clips and specials, then they will slowly bring TRL back, but on VH1 not MTV. That would be genius.

That special should have been 90 mins.

ok. this show may have ultimately met it's demise because of social networks, blogs, and MP3s but there is no denying the last few years of this show was ****. It was never on regularly, taking days and weeks off at a time, and when it was on it was filled with c list disney stars and a couple seconds of music videos.


My generation had the best pop music in years!

I need an update on where this girl is.

This show really got me into music. I was into everything on TRL no matter what the genre. This era of music, by far, I'm most knowledgeable on.

I miss the show. I think blaming it's downfall on mp3s if a bit reaching though. I think they got terrible when they shows 30 seconds of each video, or skipped some, and spent the hour doing other things. Originally they would play all 10 videos start to finish and STILL have time for idle chat. By the end it wasn't about the music or the countdown anymore, so it died.

I watched it twice. I may watch it one more time before I delete it off the DVR.

I remember watching it every day after school and I started coming to ATRL back when it was still Absolute TRL and Joe ran it because if I had missed a day the charts I would come here (to the main page) to check out the charts and then I ended up coming to the board and joining - and then for a while we would have the ATRL chats on AIM - so TRL I think really did impact my life.

When I joined this board it was a TRL Fanboard.

I loved the documentary! They managed to talk about columbine without mentioning marilyn manson
and through the entire documentary they must have showed him atleast 10 times- he really was a big part of TRL back then!

I wish there was something like TRL thats just as popular for this music's generation- to give some exposure to some music that doesnt get played on the radio. Like how they were talking about kid rock- his music didnt get radio play but TRL got him famous. That needs to happen with a good artist/genre right now and it wont because all ppl do is watch videos on youtube of stuff they heard on the radio

It is. It's part of "The Greatest Series" and it's two hours because there's part 1 and part 2, I'm assuming they're going to do 40-21 in part 1 and 20-1 in part 2. I set it to DVR the other day.
