Exactly. Unless ur not humble, ANY award u win u should be grateful for. If I was a new artist, IDC if I won any award, I would be so happy I won. Of course, The Grammy is the big goal, but any other award would be meaningful, because look where u started at (bottom with nothing on ur shelf but nick nacks) now look we're ur at now.
Grammys followed by nothing. The rest range from fun parties to totally irrelevant. I mean, the Billboard Awards were cancelled for years for Christ's sake.
The Grammy AMAS and Billboard Awards and VMAs are essential because they're for 3 different things.
Grammys are for music gratification from your peers. It shows that u have made a great song or great album
AMAs show ur accomplishments in America
Billboard Awards are for all the hits u made. It is rewarding u for that
Vmas are for the appreciation of making a great visual music video.

I don't disagree, but the VMAs give the impression that they're all about anything else (the parties, the performances, the "moments", the controversy, the outfits, etc) than honoring the videos per se. It was really about the music and the videos in the 90s, in my opinion.
