That would be my definition of "hop on" fans, as well.
But I do agree that it did seem odd when ATRL suddenly (after the Born To Die video) turned into this place where it basically sounded like Lana was the second coming.
For myself, I only listened to the 4 songs she released to iTunes, refrained from listening to any demos to sort of not to buy into the hype too much because I honestly couldn't care less about her unfinished work. I wanted a complete album, nothing less. I watched her appearances on Jonathan Ross and Saturday Night Live and that was basically it, not to mention the latter sucked big time. Still, I couldn't judge her or call myself a fan of anything other than a few songs, after only having that to base it on. I waited until I heard the album and what I heard was a great debut that perhaps needed a little more variety. Nevertheless, I can very much say it's a great body of work,
even though I dislike 5 of the songs
