I signed up when I got my license when I was 17. After I die, they aren't going to serve me any purpose so I might as well give them to someone else. And that way it'll almost be as if a part of me still exists and is doing something positive for someone out there.

No thanks.
Organ donation is a step too far for me.
I mean, I feel for people who need organs and I hope that they can find them, but I don't want to be one of the donors.
Not to mention all the stories you see of people getting kidnapped and cut open for their organs.
Ch. The only case I can ever maybe see myself donating an organ is in the family.

I wouldn't jump on an opportunity to donate an organ, but if I had to, I would. That's the right thing to do. Give to those who are in need.

I told my mother that when I die if my organs are still healthy, to donate them right away. I rather die and know that my organs may save someone elses life.. than die and let my perfectly good functioning organs rot in my grave and prevent someone from getting an organ they need.

Ch, YES! Don't tell me you haven't heard of the global Organ Black Market?! That's some scary **** right there.
Walking down the streets of Bangkok or wherever, and all of a sudden, you're knocked out and snatched away. When you finally wake up hours later, you find yourself missing a kidney.

What does that have to do with organ donation?

When I die, they can have all my organs, I won't need them and other people do. I'd want my eyes to be left alone though.

Seeing as this impacts my step dad right now, I am all for it (registered organ donor myself). If I can save a life when my time comes, I'm all for it. What better gift could you ever give another person than life?

My Mother has an auto-immune disease that is attacking her Liver and she is on the transplant list.
I am definitely pro, I carry an organ donor card, in fact I am pro-consumed consent I believe you should have to actively opt out and give a good reason for it too. It's not like we will need our organs when we are dead, why not save a life? I know my family would find solace in a loss saving lives and as hard as that is it's always good to help others.
I think it's hard to understand until you know someone who needs it, a lot of people find the idea gross or invasive, I think it is selfish to not be a donor unless it is for religious reasons and even then I have some issues.

I don't see a problem with it, I'll probably sign up for it when I get my license.

...it isn't really suggesting that you give up your liver while you are still alive, it's really an after you die thing.
And imagine if you or someone you loved were deathly ill and waiting for a transplant, someone who is a perfect match dies in a car accident and the family refuses to donate organs that they no longer need in any way...I don't understand why anyone wouldn't help out tbh.

I'm sorry about your mom and I hope she finds a suitable donor in time.

Why would I care what they do with my organs?? I won't be here to use them. If someone else can use them, that's wonderful.

Basically. I would if someone in my family was in need or if I felt like it was absolutely the best thing to do in some situation concerning organ donation, but you won't see me signing up at random.

I didn't know this was a controversial topic? I would deff do it for someone in dire need.
