This video card as of TODAY is only mid-leveled and it is going to be outdated and like 2 generations behind the other amd cards by the end of 2014.
I understand this is a console and not a PC but I don't see why they would use a card from this series instead of using some lower end amd 7000 seires.

I agree with this. I consider my PC entirely mid-level adequate and even I'm running better than this. Kind of surprising consoles are so far behind.
