I don't see it as ignorance. A lot of my Asian friends that are born in America even have an "American" names, but are named something else on their birth certificate. I didn't know those two were born in the US, so reading two generic English names as Jessica and Tiffany, I of course assumed they were giving them English names to push them in America. You can see it as ignorance, but I sure don't.
