There's a sort of idealized "caramel" color, people whiter tan and people darker bleach to try and reach that color.
I don't think it's that shockingly bad, I mean people always want to change their appearance, but obviously skin color is a more sensitive aspect of one's looks. I could care less though. I like my skin more when it's darker, I'd never get a fake tan but if someone wants to why should anyone stop them. Same goes for people who want to look lighter.
I use Likas Papaya sometimes to match my uneven skin tone though. It's cheap and the effect is gradual so the uneven skin doesn't get too white easily...
But that horrorfest patchy white skin just ain't right.
He claimed to have gone through a "skin rejuvenation" process that left him looking white, but he's darkened since then. And yes, he was wearing color contacts.
MJ actually did have vitiligo (it was in his autopsy) and he did bleach at least some parts of his skin so that he wouldn't end up with the uneven pigment that many vitiligo victims suffer from.

I know Michael had it. I was doubting Sammy had it.
Are there any stars that actually admit to having their skin lightened? They all seem to deny it and blame natural causes...or make up and lighting!
For american celebs, admitting it would be a death toll to their careers but here in our country, when you go to a dermatologist to lighten your skin, you are either are a celebrity endorsing that clinic or you're just too rich to care for them lessors with no money...
With all that we know about Michael i think we can safely assume that he did deliberately lighten his skin for cosmetic reasons. Regardless of vitiligo. I mean, its not like its the only physical feature he altered!

I'm glad I'm naturally tan. I wouldnt mind using that skin evening thing though.
