Simon Cowell has revealed he wants Cheryl Cole back on The X Factor.

The music mogul fell out with the singer last year when she was sensationally axed from the U.S. version after just four days and it looked like the 28-year-old would never speak to Cowell again.
But after reconciling Cowell, who said he felt like 'public enemey number one after firing Cole, said he would welcome the Girls Aloud singer onto the judging panel.

He said: 'I regret what happened because Cheryl was a close friend. I've always believed we'll end up doing something together again.'
Asked about a potential return to The X Factor, he added: 'She could be a panellist again if she wanted to - 100 per cent.'I don't know if she would. I think she probably misses me.'

Cowell said he last spoke to Cheryl in November, although she put a jokey message on Twitter about how old he was on his birthday.

He said: "That was the ice-breaker and we did speak afterwards'


The 52-year-old star admitted he felt like 'public enemy number one' in the aftermath of Cheryl's axing.
He added: 'She is a grown-up and she understands that in this business when something happens it happens publicly.
'That wasn't a great week for me. When I came back last year I was public enemy number one and I wouldn't want to go through that again.'

Meanwhile, Simon is said to have angered ITV chiefs after he admitted he 'hadn't decided' if the current judging panel - Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos - will return this year, placing particular doubt over the busy Take That star's position.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: 'We want Gary to stay. He did a brilliant job and we would be thrilled to have him back.

I think Simon is talking about Cheryl being on the UK version. He axed her from the US version cause people couldnt understand her. He would never get rid of Paula because a lot of people including me watch for the Simon / Paula interaction. Also Simon said he wouldnt have brought the Xfactor to the US if Paula wouldnt be on it with him.

She's already been there and done that. She should focus on her music career and leave this in her past. She doesn't need the show anymore.

That's what I kinda think. She needs to promote this hardcore tbh. Without the show n being on TV every weekend, she has no excuse. MLR promo was almost as bad as Britney's promo for FF.

It would seem kind of desperate if she joined again.
