"Very hard" in that the 2-3 best selling albums of the year typically accomplished it. Gaga's releases have all been in the Top 3 in their respective years of release.

Im not a Gaga fan but the albums she's released have been among the best selling of her years.

So probably Gaga out of those. She's been consistent so far.

The mediatraffic underestimated sales for IASF as well as Circus sales

Mediatraffic reports IASF likely sold around 6M .. and Circus 3.4M

But I think the real sales are IASF 7M ... and Circus 4M

Yeah, I've seen IASF's sales reported as 7 million a bunch of times. I've never known for sure where that figure has come from, though. Thanks.

They can be useful for a rough, conservative estimate, but they admit they don't track every country.

That's a lie... Simply it was a slow period (summer sales) so a low amount of sales was enough to keep in her in the top40 (same happened with Pitbull, Selena Gomez and others).

Mediatraffic isn't official, but if it is a landmark for WW album sales since it was founded there must be a reason, their numbers are as accurate as extimations can get... there's no closest source to WW effective album sales. I can't at this shade and then every week people are there to look up to their charts.

IFPI report tracks shipments.
