But IMO Bey wasn't as big as britney

1) I remember "Dangerously in love" couldn't outsell "Britney album" despite being Beyonce's debut

2) "B'day" couldn't outsell "In the zone" , Actually "GH: My prerogative" sold as much as B'Day


3) ... and the first time Beyonce really outsold Britney ... was during "IASF / Circus" eras .... but in defense of Britney .... Beyonce released 9 singles from IASF , attended to many tv shows, spent 2 years promoting the album, did a tour with more dates than brit's , and collaborated twice with Lady Gaga ..... Just to sell 2.5M more than Circus and ending with a Lower grossing tour than Britney's.



Bey was very respected and acclaimed, and won many Grammys that is amazing .... but IMO Britney ruled the 00s.

Beyoncé is probably a better representation of the WHOLE 00's since the hip-hop/R&B sound has marked that decade (I'm not sayin' there weren't other genres..but like the Disco for the 70's and Synthpop-new-wave for the 80's..that was one of the most heard genre..)..

Anyway..since the sound maturity to better define a decade in music is usually in the second-half of the latter..I'd say Rihanna..that was omnipresent for a good part of the 00's..

Unless this became a new option, some mod had to clear it.

And it didn't have a huge hit like irreplaceable, practically no promotion and only two singles were released.

Britney of course. But Beyonce is the only one that comes close.
