And regarding RITD, it sold 5,8 mill in US, 900k in Uk. It sold only 1,5 mill in the rest of the world, despite being #1 literally everywhere? A 1/5 of JTWYAs numbers?
Come on...
What are you smoking?
And On The Floor was #1 in more countries than RITD btw, it could easily be #2 if it was bigger in the USA and Japan.
Didn't you say yourself Katy's singles success outside of US isn't even comparable to the one they have in the US? I expected to see "Firework", but none of the other singles even comes close.
Katy's success in singles outside of the US varies, but majority of those hits do quite well overseas. "Firework" was released in 2010, a lot of her sales for "Firework" come from 2010, and 2011.
no matter how you twist it, the numbers are still clearly wrong, and you have to cope with that, and i'm not even defending my fave
I don't have to cope with anything. I don't find anything wrong with these numbers you are the one who should deal because IFPI will forever be more relevant than a fan chart.
And yes I also happen to like the fact that one of my faves is #1 on the list.
Ty. People don't realize just how big that song was here. For example it didn't peak really high in France but it kept selling consistently for such a long time and by the time Grenade was exploding here, it was still getting almost the same airplay as Grenade.
you guys can say anything you want but it would be all over the web in the couple few hours with big bold letters Bruno Mars Scores Biggest-Selling Digital Single Of 2011 so move on he deserves some attention
I'm not surprised by these numbers considering that the South Korean, Russian and Japanese markets are huge when it comes to digital singles due to their low prices
