I'm more familiar with older Urban music.

They're the only eras I really listen to nowadays.

My mom stanned hard for people like Mariah, Micheal, Toni, Celine, Brandy, Whitney, etc so I know most of their music and it's very familiar for me. I'm slowly going back to my musical roots and picking up on albums that I haven't heard yet.

I'm definitely far from an expert about the 70s-80s, but I'm pretty knowledgeable about 90s & 00s music. I know the basics about any time before.

I never say anything about older music without being able to back it up though.

tbh no. I only remember music from late 90s (the biggest dance hits like Macarena, ABBA songs, Britney songs, the Eiffel 65 song, etc) I can't be bothered to go back and listen to older discographies, I mean what's the point anyway, I'll stick with the ones from "my time."

Ofc people from that time will always support that music and prefer it over current music because it's from "their time" as well.
